Vertical panel lighting mounts in a recessed channel on the inner face of wardrobe vertical panels. The light projects inward, illuminating hanging garments from the side rather than from above. This approach provides better shadow elimination on hanging items compared to top-mounted lighting alone.
Typical installation uses a narrow recessed aluminum channel (14mm or 17mm wide) running the full height of the wardrobe section. A low-wattage high-CRI strip (40-60W/m) is sufficient — the proximity of the strip to the garments means less lumen output is needed than for ceiling or shelf installations.
